Rosemary Sigmon received both an M.A. Degree in Economics and Business Education in Secondary Education and Junior College Instruction and a B.S. degree in Business Education with a minor in Social Science from Appalachian State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was named Outstanding Business Student of 1965 by the National Business Education Association and received an undergraduate academic scholarship from the college. She was elected to membership in Alpha Chi (National Scholastic Honor Society) and Pi Omega Pi (National Business Honor Society) and was awarded the Danforth Foundation scholarship grant for graduate study at Appalachian State University.
Rosemary's teaching experience includes St. Ursuline Academy in Springfield, Illinois, Springfield Junior College, Springfield, Illinois, Atholton High School in Baltimore, Maryland, and Catawba Valley Technical Institute in Hickory, North Carolina. She has worked at Wake Forest University for 23 years.
Mrs. Sigmon is married to the Reverend Stephen D. Sigmon, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Greensboro, N.C. They have three children: Dr. Douglas Sigmon and wife Susan of Manassas, Virginia, Stephanie Smith and husband Todd of Kernersville, and Jeffrey Sigmon and wife Judy of Winston-Salem. Rosemary has four grandchildren, Maria Sigmon, Graham Sigmon, Madison Smith, and Tyler Smith.
